Liberty Snake‘s debut Passato Prossimo combines dreamy and gritty sounds to a rebellious avant-pop-album.

Passato Prossimo is a composition that reflects two significant transitions. The first is a shift from seeing songwriting as an experiment to transform their art into a deep dive of production, synths and powerful lyrics. The second transition is a rather personal one: The Album was created over the course of two years – A period in which Liberty Snake‘s voice lowered as they underwent hormone therapy. This can be heard in different textures and pitches of Liberty Snake‘s voice(s), that are layered and combined on the same recordings. Rebellious attitudes reminiscent of Sinéad O’Connor and Laurie Anderson are mixed with a DIY production, that combines dreamy and soft sounds with gritty and noisy moments in the Passato Prossimo
